Oral Love-Making
Oral love-making is the caressing of the sexual organs by mouth. More specifically, the sucking and licking of the penis is known as
fellatio, and that of the clitoris and its vicinity is called
cunnilingus.
Oral love-making is not a new sexual technique. There is plenty of evidence to show that it has been practiced from the very beginning of mankind. Besides finding it pleasurable, most men and women at one or the other time have a desire to indulge in oral love-making. In societies where such surveys have been conducted, it has been found that 50 to 60 per cent of couples engage in oral love-making. Many of those who indulged in it felt guilty about it, but all the same continued doing it, either because they found it pleasurable or because they wanted to fulfil their own or their partner's desire.
Whether a couple should or should not engage in oral lovemaking is purely a matter that depends on them. If they do not have any hang up about it, there is nothing wrong in their indulging in it. If on the other hand, oral love-making is objectionable to them, the question of their practicing it does not arise. If, however, one partner desires it and the other one does not, the desirous partner should be understanding and never force the issue.
Many couples shun from oral love-making because they think it is unhygienic. Because of their shape and structure, it is necessary that the sexual organs should be cleaned before and after intercourse. And if properly cleaned, the sex organs are definitely the site of far less bacteria than the mouth. So, provided the genitals have been properly cleaned, there is nothing unhygiemc about oral love-making. Also, medical experts have confirmed that the juices and secretions which come out of the sex organs are in no way harmful. Many people fear that they are abnormal because of the urge they sometimes feel to carry out oral love-making. This fear is absolutely baseless. As we have already seen, almost all people at some or the other time have an inclination to indulge in oral love-making. For most of the couples who practice it, oral love-making is pleasurable to both the receiver and giver of oral stimulation. It seems to be generally agreed that oral caressing is most desirable as the last stage of love-making, before actual intercourse. Then the intensity of resulting orgasms is very high and satisfactory.
In fellatio, it is not only the penis which should be stimulated. The area behind the scrotum (and possibly the scrotum itself, if he can stand it!) should also be stimulated. Similarly, in cunnilingus, attention should be paid not only to the clitoris but also to the areas around it and the entrance of the vagina.
Oral love-making should not be restricted to sucking and licking. Kissing, gliding movement with the tongue, flickering with the tongue-tip, all can be part of the game. Furthermore, oral love-making is not something which must be performed only when lying down. It can be carried out in many standing and sitting positions. As with intercourse, each couple should find out through experimentation the positions best suited to them. Given here are two methods of fellatio which, if not already known, may be worth experimenting with. First: The woman opens her mouth widely, draws her lips over her teeth, and causes the oral friction of the penis by moving her head up and down and at the same time from side to side. Towards the end of each up-stroke, the lips and tongue can caress the rim. And before the start of each down-stroke, the penis-head may be sucked several times. The important factor is that throughout a rhythm should be maintained.
Now the second method. The man lies at the edge of a bed, with his legs spread open and at the same time drawn backwards. The woman kneels on the floor and, beginning at the perineum, runs her tongue over the scrotum and up the underside of the penis. Then she retraces her path down the penis, over the scrotum again, and down the perineum. This is repeated several times. Variations of numerous kinds can be brought into the play, for example, the flickering of the tongue over the tip of the penis; a very tender effort to drive the tip of the tongue down the opening of the penis.
For cunnilingus, too, there are many methods, and each couple should, through experimentation, find out the ones most suitable to them. The flickering of the clitoris-tip with the tongue can be very exciting to most women. The holding and sucking of the clitoris between the lips can create sensations of great intensity. Kissing, sucking and licking should not be restricted to the clitoris only, but carried out over the rest of the vaginal area also.
As with fellatio, one of the most satisfying ways of performing cunnilingus is as follows: The woman lies on her back at the edge of a bed. Her legs are spread open and drawn backwards. The man kneels on the floor and, starting from the perineum, runs his tongue up the vagina till the clitoris. Then he retraces the path backwards. This is repeated several times and variations like kissing, sucking or licking this or that partÄare brought into play.
For the simultaneous performance of fellatio and cunnilingus one of the so-called 69 positions is adopted. The essence of all these positions is that the head of the man is towards the feet of the woman, while her head is towards his feet. This means that while he is orally caressing her genitals, she can do the same to his genitals. Either the man or the woman can be on top, or they can lie side by side. Here is one 69 position which many people find very satisfactory: The man lies on his back with his head at about the middle of the bed. The woman, taking her weight on her knees and elbows, places herself over him in such a way that her head is above his penis and her clitoral area over his face. Besides being comfortable, this position leaves the hands free for additional caressing.
